1. Who is responsible for your information?

In short: we use your move information to request quotes from selected local removal companies, but we keep your name, email address and telephone number private from them. We share your contact details only with the removal company you choose and ask us to introduce.
2. Information we collect
Quote requests
When you request quotes, we collect the details you enter, including:
- your name, email address and telephone number;
- where you are moving from and to;
- the type and approximate size of the move;
- property access information, such as floor level, lift availability and practical limitations;
- photographs you upload of the property, access route and items to be moved;
- your preferred timing, any services required and any notes you choose to provide; and
- the date and time of your request.
Removal-company applications
If you apply to join Move-Match, we collect your company and contact details, areas covered, services offered and any notes you provide.
Reviews
If reviews are enabled and you choose to leave one, we may collect your rating, comments, first name or display name, the company reviewed and limited information about the service. We will not publish your email address, telephone number or full moving addresses.
Website and communications data
We may collect messages you send us and technical information such as browser type, device type, pages viewed, approximate location and interaction data. Optional analytics information is collected only where the law requires consent and you have provided it.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. This will not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.
4. Who receives your information?
We may share personal information with:
- selected local removal companies, which receive the move information and private photographs needed to prepare a quote without your name, email address or telephone number;
- the removal company you choose, which receives your contact details only after you ask us to make the introduction;
- form-delivery, website-hosting, email, security and other IT providers that help us operate Move-Match;
- analytics or review-service providers, where those features are enabled and any required consent has been obtained;
- professional advisers, insurers, regulators, courts or public authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required; and
- a buyer or successor if Move-Match is reorganised, sold or transferred, subject to appropriate safeguards.
The removal company you choose is responsible for its own use of your information after receiving it. It should use the details to discuss the move you requested, not for unrelated marketing.
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we will use a lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards as required by UK data-protection law.
5. How long we keep information
- Customer quote enquiries: up to 12 months from submission.
- Move photographs: normally 30 days from upload, after which the private gallery expires and the photographs are deleted.
- Removal-company applications and related correspondence: up to 24 months, or for the duration of an active working relationship and a reasonable period afterwards.
- Published reviews: while the review remains relevant and the review service operates, unless it is removed earlier following a valid request or moderation decision.
- Cookie and analytics information: for the period described in our Cookie policy and the relevant provider settings.
- Information needed for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute purposes: for as long as reasonably required for that purpose.
We may delete information sooner when it is no longer needed. We may retain anonymous information that can no longer identify anyone.
6. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your personal information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to delete or restrict the use of information;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive certain information in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
Your right to object: you may object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing.

If you are unhappy with how we use your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
7. Security, children and automated decisions
We use reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information. Move photographs are stored separately from the public website and accessed through a private, time-limited gallery link. Anyone who receives that link may be able to view the photographs until it expires, so it should not be forwarded unnecessarily.
No internet service is completely secure. Please avoid photographing people, documents, computer screens, alarm panels, keys or other sensitive or unnecessary information, and avoid including sensitive information in free-text fields.
Move-Match is intended for adults arranging or supplying removal services. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We do not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects using solely automated processing.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our service, suppliers or legal obligations change. The latest version will appear on this page with a revised update date. We will provide an appropriate notice before using information for a materially different purpose.
